Home is Where the Art is

this past saturday rochester celebrated the official grand opening of 1975 Gallery's new permanent home with its latest exhibition, Home is Where the Art is (covered by City Newspaper, here.). i'm so happy to have been a part of such a great lineup of local talent and this show is a strong indication of all the big things to come.  so make sure to keep on eye out for more awesomeness from 1975 Gallery.  and major props and congrats to my homie, Erich Lehman!

the gallery should have all the work available in its online store soon but if you see something you like in the meantime, you can direct all purchase inquiries to info@1975ish.com.  also, there are still a few Chasing Marvelous Times prints available (*see below) for anyone interested.

peace!

Chasing Marvelous Times

i'm very excited to announce the release of my very first limited edition screenprint, Chasing Marvelous Times!  i've teamed up with 1975 Gallery and HTB Custom Screen Printing to commemorate the grand opening of 1975 Gallery's official space and kick-off show Home is Where the Art is.  The guys at HTB did an amazing job with this 8 layer, hand-pulled screenprint printed on 4ply rag matboard (the actual surface that i paint my originals on).  each piece, of the edition of 75 (signed & numbered), is hand embellished by me, making each one unique.  these will go on sale TONIGHT (9/15) at the opening from 7p-10p at a VERY special price of $19.75 and any remaining prints will then be sold online through 1975's online shop at the regular price of $40.  *all proceeds go directly to the operation and maintaining of this new ROC institution, 1975 Gallery*

for purchasing inquiries please visit: www.1975ish.com or contact: info@1975ish.com

i can't say just how stoked i am about how well these came out.  definitely be on the look out for more edition prints from me in the future.

and if you're in the rochester area, come by 89 charlotte st. and come celebrate 1975's new home!

peace!

SF '12

hannah and i just returned from a week's long stay in san francisco, where i took part in a 2 person exhibition with SF local artist and architect geoff campen at fabric8 gallery.  concurrent, featured new solo and collaborative works from geoff and i, and i must say we were pretty stoked on the end results.  it was a lot of fun working with geoff and collaborating not only from across the country, but with never having actually met.    it was great to see our work come together rather seamlessly, but with enough distinction to enhance our respective styles.

not only was it a great show but hannah and i were able to really enjoy our first time to SF and haven't stopped raving about this city since we stepped off the plane.  we crammed in quite a bit, but i have to say that the highlight for me was the barry mcgee retrospective at UC berkley.  what an experience!

i just want to thank all the wonderful people we met there and in particular, olivia and anthony of fabric8 for being such gracious hosts and for the opportunity to share our work with them.  also want to thank geoff for sharing his studio and putting on a pretty rad show!

go HERE for a look at all available works.  and you can direct all purchase inquiries to info@fabric8.com

thank you, SF!

peace!
