And We're Back

the rumors are true, the SweetMeat Co. is back at it! a year and half since our inaugural 'Extravaganza' show and several solo and collaborative projects later, we've reunited in a new space to bring the awesomeness. we're one month away from our June 24th opening night and we got the ball rolling this past weekend with a little urban exploring and material scrounging. we came across this great rochester gem that was filled with some serious goodies. stay tuned here and on the SweetMeat Co. site for more updates as we progress. we're all so excited to be working together again!

in other news, this is the last week to check out Stories by Streetlight at Different Path gallery in brockport. if you haven't checked out the show in person, take the drive and take a look. also make sure to check out my Hannah's blog to see her work from the show.

Stories by Streetlight

first off, i want to thank everyone who made the drive to check out the opening for Stories by Streetlight. i also want to thank my partner in crime and in life, hannah betts-moncibaiz, for making some truly inspiring work and forcing me to go out of my comfort zone a bit. i'm so proud of her and her work, and this is barely her first show -- so look out!

so here's a sampling of the work. as previously mentioned, i wanted to take some time away from painting for a bit and this set of work really let me change gears. it was such a different and refreshing way of working and i'm pretty stoked on the results. it was great to focus in a bit and tighten up. not too mention, it was an awesome excuse to sit in my studio and revisit some of my favorite cartoons when i was a kid.
